SHELBY COUNTY SCHOOL STUDENTS MUST HAVE PRIOR APPROVAL FROM SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR AND ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDANT OF
CURRICULUM & ACCOUNTABILITY TO ATTEND ANY OUTSIDE SUMMER SCHOOL PROGRAM FOR CREDIT.

Summer School will be held at the following schools this summer:
1) ARLINGTON HIGH – A.M. 7:00 – 11:30 (credit recovery only)
2) BARTLETT HIGH – P.M. 12:15 – 4:15 (credit recovery only)
3) BOLTON HIGH - A.M. 7:00 – 11:30
4) COLLIERVILLE HIGH – A.M. 7:30 – 12:00 & P.M. 12:30 – 5:00
5) GERMANTOWN HIGH – A.M. 7:00 – 11:30 & (P.M. 11:30 – 3:00 credit recovery)
6) HOUSTON HIGH – A.M. 7:00 – 11:30 & (P.M. 11:30 – 3:00 credit recovery)
7) MILLINGTON HIGH – A.M. 7:00 – 11:30 & (P.M. 12:00 – 3:00 credit recovery)
8) SOUTHWIND HIGH – A.M. 7:00 – 11:30

Tuition:
1) Courses for one (1) unit of credit $320.00
2) Courses for one-half (1/2) unit of credit $160.00

Make Up Time:
1) PER 1.5 HOURS $ 30.00

Payment:
Cash, cashier’s check or money order payable to Shelby County Board of Education. Also, credit by Visa or
MasterCard will be accepted. NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Summer School Schedule:

1) REGISTRATION AT EACH HIGH SCHOOL » June 8 « 7:30 – 11:00 A.M.
2) FIRST SEMESTER:
• June 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30, July 1, 2
3) SECOND SEMESTER:
• July 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30

There will be two ten-minute breaks during each class.

The above schedule allows for a total of 133 hours of instruction per credit earned. Students must be aware that summer school
credit of less than 133 hours of instructional time WILL NOT be accepted by Shelby County Schools.

Unless the student has been granted a waiver, Shelby County students MUST have a 3.0 GPA to enroll in a new required regular
course. Students not regularly enrolled in Shelby County Schools must bring an official letter of permission from their school to
register. The letter must state the course(s) the student is expected to take.

Course (credit) Recovery will be available at some schools. Please see school counselor for available courses. Course (credit)
Recovery coursework can only be allowed for students who have failed the course. Student must register for Course Recovery at
the school where they will attend. Students may register for other courses at any location.
